the war wanes. it's been a good fight, a little shorter than i had hoped. i am proud to have fought with him.
he's a great dog. always with the happy. he took his job of looking after naomi quite seriously when i was away at work, and stepped back when i would come home. he's still looking for the joy, just having a hard time finding it.
today it is hugs. tomorrow morning it is over.
he made it though the long hitch and was able to get up to greet me at the door with a slight tail wag last night, if only just.i'm glad i am able to be here. honored that i can hold him for the injection, feel that last breath so closely, help him on that final adventure.
thanks for all the help, hand holding/shoulders, and well wishes. you've all made it a bit easier. i will have but one more update for you.
p.s. i'm really good at making snot
